Background & Racing History

Bobby Dale Earnhardt (Born September 1, 1987, in Salisbury, NC) is the grandson of NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt, and great-grandson of legendary racer Ralph Earnhardt. Bobby made his first mark in the racing world by earning the Rookie of the Year honors in the ARCA Truck Series in 2013, competing in that series through the 2016 season. On May 21, 2017 Bobby made his ARCA Racing Series debut, piloting the No. 3 Chevrolet for Hixson Motorsports. That same year, he stepped up to the NASCAR Xfinity Series debuting in September at Richmond International Raceway in the No. 40 MBM Motorsports Chevrolet. Most recently, Bobby announced he will be racing the #89 Chevrolet SS for Rise Racing in the 2026 ARCA Menards Series.

Beyond racing Bobby Dale is a dedicated husband and father of four children, proudly balancing family life with his passion for motorsports. The Earnhardt family enjoys the outdoors and the simple lifestyle of living in the country on their family farm, values that keep them grounded while chasing big dreams on the track. Much of Bobby’s family time is also spent working with his son Brylon & daughter Kylianne on their own racing careers, supporting them in outlaw kart racing and passing down the Earnhardt family’s racing tradition. Bobby continues the illustrious Earnhardt tradition as a determined competitor forging his own path in stock car racing.
